Sealing of sandwich panels with Abris S materials

Sandwich panels as structural systems are one of the latest and widely used building materials.

In addition to significantly reducing the construction time, the use of sandwich panels has several other obvious "advantages": a high coefficient of thermal resistance with a small thickness of enclosing structures, a reduction in transportation costs when delivering material to the construction site, a decrease in the load on the foundation and, as a result, the possibility of building light foundations, a reduction in energy costs for the operation of the building low construction cost.

The construction of prefabricated structures made of sandwich panels requires the creation of reliable sealing of lock joints and connecting seams, ensuring high-quality sealing of panel joints and the abutment of panels to load-bearing structures. Achieving the conditions of complete tightness of all the designed units during the installation of sandwich panels determines the operational properties and durability of structures and buildings as a whole. The correct choice of sealing materials guarantees the solution of these problems.

Complete waterproofing and sealing of joints and interfaces of structural elements constructed from sandwich panels is achieved through the use of non-curing self-adhesive sealants Abris S, which have high performance properties. Including resistance to deformation, weather conditions, elasticity at low temperatures and durability.

General requirements for operation with Abris S materials:

	Sealing of sandwich panel junction nodes to load-bearing structures with Abris S-LTiz material. The tape is made of a self-adhesive plastoelastic mass based on butyl rubber of a high degree of stickiness. On the one hand, the tape is covered with an anti–adhesive coating, on the other - with an isolon (foamed polyethylene). Sealer and barrier of the cold bridge at the junctions of the sandwich panel to the column, beams, racks, crossbars, girders.
	Sealing of the lock joints of sandwich panels with a cord Abris S-Sh. Self-adhesive moisture-permeable sealing material of a high degree of stickiness based on butyl rubber. It is available in the form of cords covered with an anti-adhesive film. The cord diameter is from 3 mm to 8 mm. Execution - rolls, segments. Lock joints of the type "spike-groove", Z-lock, "groove –comb" and their varieties; Secret-Fix.
	Sealing of lock joints of sandwich panels with sealants Abris S-B 48 and Abris Sm-B_260/320. Butyl sealants Abris S-B Ø48 and Abris Sm-B_260/320 are packed in a file package or cartridge.They are applied using guns for applying sealants. They are used for sealing joints in structures made of various materials (metal, concrete, glass, brick, rubber, plastic, etc.) in buildings and structures of all types.

When working with a sealant, the use of special personal protective equipment is not required.
When applying sealant, the working surface must be dried from moisture, cleaned from dust, dirt, and in winter - from ice, snow or frost.
Apply sealant at air temperature not lower than -20 °С. At temperature below 0 °С, the sealant must be kept in warm (+20 °С) room for 24 hours.
At air temperature above 0 °С additional conditions are not required when working with sealant. The sealing material is laid manually.

One of the latest developments of our scientific and technical center was the composition of sealant in frost-resistant design - Abris Sm, designed for work in winter. This material has increased ductility and stickiness to cold surfaces under conditions of negative temperatures.
